THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine work with appropriate stakeholders to develop specific Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes that allow reimbursement for non-face-to-face time spent in Advance Care Planning (ACP) in the post-acute and long-term care setting;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that AMDA enlist the assistance of the American Medical Association and other stakeholders to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services expansion of the definition of reimbursable ACP services to include time spent in non-face-to-face ACP conversations to allow Medicare coverage as telehealth services.
