Resolution I99
Becomes Policy March 1999

AMDA resolves to recognize the significance of end-of-life care planning. And, that all residents in nursing facilities should have access to appropriate end-of-life care. The expected outcomes are respect for patient advanced directives, safe and comfortable dying, and effective grieving, and further resolves that medical directors should be provided with sufficient training, education, and institutional involvement to assess and improve end-of-life care in the facility.
