Utility of Electrocardiograms in a Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Center

Electrocardiograms (EKGs) are a well-known diagnostic medical tool. At Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Centers (PALTCs), residents get EKGs ordered for many urgent and non-urgent clinical indications. There are no studies so far to demonstrate EKG performance at PALTC. We describe the clinical practice of EKG testing in a 720-bed facility in the Bronx, NY.
