Silent Constipation: A Potentially Lethal, Although, Under-Recognized, Under-Diagnosed and Under-Treated Entity

Constipation is a commonly prevalent condition and often a distressing digestive complaint. Left untreated, it may be associated with severe morbidity and occasionally in mortality. To determine 1) the correlation between patient’s complain of constipation, with radiological evidence for excessive colonic fecal retention, and 2) appropriateness of therapy for constipation, by clinicians.
