Although the prevention of respiratory viral infections by vaccinating nursing home (NH) residents reduces both pneumonia and death,1 vaccination coverage of both NH residents and health care professionals (HCPs) remains a challenging issue in France. Vaccine coverage for influenza is high for NH residents (90%) but low for COVID-19 (30%) and remains very low for HCPs (<30%).2 Different studies have shown the benefits of vaccinating HCPs to reduce all-cause mortality, flulike symptoms, and medical consultations for and admission to hospital with influenza-like illness.
