Falls represent a critical health concern for older adults, particularly those residing in long-term care (LTC) settings. Approximately 50%–75% of nursing facility residents fall each year, a rate 2 to 3 times higher than older adults living in the community.1 The consequences of falls in this vulnerable population can be devastating, leading to serious injuries, loss of independence, reduced quality of life, and increased mortality.2
