Reframing Aging in Politics: Evaluating Job Candidates Beyond Chronological Age

One of us (Lisa Lind) was recently reviewing job candidates’ qualifications for an upcoming position that requires skill in communicating, negotiating, problem solving, planning, and thinking rationally in stressful situations. When selecting a potential candidate, it’s always an added benefit when they have prior experience in the exact position that I am hiring for because there is evidence of how they performed. For this job opening, there were two candidates who both had recent experience related to the position and their performance was extensively documented.
