Putting the Value-Based Care Pieces Together

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have set a goal of having every Medicare beneficiary in a value-based care (VBC) arrangement by 2030. Yet according to a recent PALTmed Foundation survey, many practitioners still aren’t working with an accountable care organization (ACO) or other VBC model, and many say they don’t have any immediate plans to do so. Part of the problem is that, like a Rubik’s Cube, the pieces can be hard to put together, and it feels easier to put it off and focus on other things.
