The Power of History in Diagnosing Acute Giardiasis

Outbreaks of diarrheal illnesses are common among elderly residents of senior living community. Usually these are related to viral illnesses, food-borne illnesses, or medications. We report an unusual occurrence of Giardia as a cause of diarrhea in an elderly resident of a senior living retirement community.
