New Alternative Payment Model (APM) and APM Performance Pathway (APP) Resources Available from CMS

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently posted new and updated resources around Alternative Payment Models (APMs) and the APM Performance Pathway (APP), a reporting and scoring pathway for Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)-eligible clinicians who participate in MIPS APMs. The following new and updated resources have recently become available on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Resource Library:
- 2023 APP Toolkit that includes the following resources:
- APP Scoring Guide: Provides a general summary about scoring for the APP.
- APP Fact Sheet: Provides an overview of the APP, including who can participate, reporting requirements, the scoring methodology, and frequently asked questions.
- APP Infographic: Highlights key features of the APP, including reporting requirements for MIPS APMs and the scoring methodology.
- APP Quick Start Guide: Shares guidance around data collection and submission requirements for the APP to help MIPS APM participants know what steps to take.
- 2023 APP Quality Requirements (SSP ACOs Only): Provides Quality Submission measure documentation for SSP ACOs only, including APP Quality Submission Options, APP Quality Measures (SSP ACOs Only), and APP Quality Measure Specifications.
- 2023 APP Quality Requirements (All Participants): Provides the measures for Individual, Group, and APM Entity APP Quality submissions, including the APP Quality Data Submission Options, APP Quality Measure Set (All Participants), and APP Quality Measure Specifications.
