A Mixed Methods Study Into COVID-19 and Influenza Outbreak Management in Nursing Homes: The Challenge of Seeking Balance Between Infection Prevention and Well-being

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, public debate arose regarding the proportionality of infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in nursing homes (NHs), as these measures negatively impacted residents' well-being. To be better prepared for future outbreaks and pandemics, we need a deeper understanding of how NHs manage COVID-19 or influenza outbreaks, and which considerations are being made to balance IPC and well-being.
