Physician practice in nursing homes (NHs) has been the subject of increasing attention over the past several years as the medical landscape for NH care continues to evolve. In their report Physicians Who Provide Primary Care in U.S. Nursing Homes: Characteristics and Care Patterns, Dr Kim and colleagues provide valuable insights into the practice patterns of physicians in NHs.1 The authors used Medicare fee-for-service claims data from a 7-year period (2012–2019) to describe primary care specialty, physician demographics, and various NH characteristics.
