Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a movement disorder that is characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra and presence of alpha-synuclein protein Lewy body. A triad of rigidity, bradykinesia, and tremors is the core of the clinical diagnosis. Non-motor symptoms of PD can manifest in early or pre-motor phases.
