Care plans are the primary reference documents guiding nursing home (NH) resident care, informing staff training, supporting care continuity, and serving as evidence of service delivery for regulatory compliance. Integration of evidence-based, psychosocial interventions into the resident care plan is key to thesustainability of an intervention in NHs, as it would indicate full implementation of the intervention into the care process. The purpose of this article was to examine the extent to which eligibility and core components of the Individualized Positive Psychosocial Interaction (IPPI) program were documented in a random subset of NH resident care plans as part of an embedded pragmatic clinical trial.
