There is insufficient evidence regarding the magnitude and durability of the protection conferred by the combined effect of natural immunity after SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccine-induced immunity among nursing home residents (NHRs), a frail and vulnerable population.1,2 In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of licensed mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in preventing COVID-19 infections in NHRs taking into account the presence of previous SARS-CoV-2 infection.
