We congratulate Wilson et al1 for their article on a new diagnostic tool for sarcopenia. They have drawn attention to the importance of ultrasound measurements as it relates to thigh muscle thickness for sarcopenia diagnosis. Anterior thigh and abdominal muscles are known to be affected with aging, earlier than other muscles.2,3 Therefore, we strongly believe in the importance of evaluating thigh muscles. However, we disagree with some of the interpretations of their study.
