Evaluating ChatGPT's Outputs to 16 Alzheimer's Disease Myths: Can ChatGPT 4.o Generate Reliable Results?

ChatGPT's applications to clinical practice and medical education are rapidly expanding. An interesting study titled “Fact Check: Assessing the Response of ChatGPT to Alzheimer's Disease Myths” published recently in the Journal explored this potential.1 In that study, the authors presented ChatGPT with 16 Alzheimer's disease myths. Despite all 16 statements being false, ChatGPT's outputs to these 16 myths varied, such as responding to some of ChatGPT's prompts with “yes” or “no.” A panel of geriatricians evaluated ChatGPT's outputs to 16 Alzheimer's disease myths using a consensus approach to rate the outputs as agreement or disagreement.
