We read with great interest the article by Gulline et al (2025) on workforce dementia training needs and preferences for residential aged care. Their study provides a valuable perspective on dementia training gaps and highlights the importance of tailored educational programs for aged care staff and volunteers. An outstanding aspect of this research is the application of mixed methods, which strengthens the study's findings by integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches. This methodological rigor allows for a comprehensive understanding of workforce training needs, barriers, and preferences—critical factors in enhancing dementia care quality.
