We read with great interest the article titled "The Impact of COVID-19 on the Prevalence, Mortality, and Associated Risk Factors for Mortality in Patients With Hip Fractures: A Meta-analysis" published in the recent issue of JAMDA.1 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between COVID-19 and hip fractures and the impact on patient mortality. The authors concluded that patients with hip fractures combined with COVID-19 infection had a significantly higher 30-day mortality rate than patients without combined COVID-19 infection.
