Frailty is an age-related syndrome that can progress from nonfrailty (ie, robustness) to prefrail, and then physical frailty.1 With the rapidly expanding aging population, there has been a corresponding increase in the number of older adults with frailty, which has placed a greater burden on the health care system.2 Therefore, developing effective strategies for preventing and managing frailty is imperative. We read with interest the article by Liu et al3 published in JAMDA that concluded through meta-analysis that exercise and/or nutritional interventions significantly improved physical function in prefrail older adults.
