We read with great interest the article titled “Adverse lipid profiles are associated with lower dementia risk in older people” reported by Schroevers et al.1 The study highlighted that dyslipidemia was linked to a lower chance of developing dementia in older adults who live in the community. Interestingly, the poor outcomes linked to dyslipidemia were reduced by low body mass index and higher educational levels. These findings have the potential to guide new approaches for predicting dementia risk and developing interventions to decrease this risk at advanced ages.
