Barriers and Enablers for Deprescribing Diabetes Medication

The recently published review by Mellot et al summarizing barriers and enablers for deprescribing glucose-lowering treatment in older adults is an interesting read.1 The authors classified their findings according to the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF), and proposed various interventions for patients and health care providers (HCPs) using the Behavioral Change Wheel. These are important steps to support the implementation of deprescribing glucose-lowering medication in older and frail patients.
