Addressing Racial Injustice in Long-Term Care

Dear Dr. Jeff: Recent events have reinforced the need for a reexamination of the role of discrimination and racism in every aspect of American society, not just the police and the criminal justice system. The health care system is not exempt. While we acknowledge the systemic issues in medical care, I do not perceive any overt racism in the care we currently provide to our residents. What, if anything, could I as an individual or we as a facility do to help America become a more just society?
