Pain Management in the PALTC Setting Teaching for Practitioner
Pain management in PALTC is identified in a step-wise approach for patients in this setting with recognition, assessment, treatment and monitoring method. This slide set includes the general principles for prescribing pain medications as well as complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), non-pharmacological interventions. Types of pain are discussed along with different pain scales including the Pain-AD Scale, a validated tool, for persons with dementia who are experiencing pain.
