Double in Jeopardy: A Global Pandemic-induced Dyadic Dementia Dilemma

This Case highlights a challenging clinical scenario where both spouses in a long-time relationship developed Alzheimer’s dementia concurrently. Differing rates of disease progression of each spouse and coincidence with the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic introduced unique barriers to home functional/safety assessment, collateral information acquisition, and ultimately, timely transition to a long term care environment.
