Changes in Antibiotic Prescribing Metrics at 3 Nursing Homes Collaborating on Antibiotic Stewardship, Atlanta, GA, 2020

Unnecessary use of antibiotics is common in nursing homes (NH) and can contribute to the spread of antibiotic resistance and increased rates of associated adverse events, such as C. difficile infections. As of November 2017, NHs are required to implement antibiotic stewardship programs to improve antibiotic prescribing practices.
