Identifying optimal testing strategies for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) is a public health priority.1 Asymptomatic surveillance is necessary to detect asymptomatic and presymptomatic carriers to prevent widespread coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks in LTCFs. In the context of test availability, costs, and acceptability constraints, the trade-offs between testing intensity and potential benefits are currently unknown for LTCFs.
