Erythrocyte Characteristics and the Risk of Depression in Late Life: A Population-Based Prospective Study

Inflammation and vascular dysregulation may contribute to the development of depression and impose a burden on erythropoiesis. This study aimed to identify the association of erythrocyte indices with the severity of depressive symptoms and risk of developing depressive disorders in the older people.
