In 2013, the Choosing Wisely Campaign launched 5 recommendations pertaining to the care of patients in the post-acute and long-term setting. This was done in an effort to educate clinicians, patients, and other providers about potentially inappropriate medical tests and procedures in this setting. In 2015, the list was expanded to 10 recommendations. Internal medicine (IM) residents (PGY 1, 2 and 3) were surveyed at our institution in 2014 (1 year after the release of the initial 5 recommendations) to assess their understanding of the Choosing Wisely recommendations.
