AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine is excited to offer an International Nursing Home Pragmatic Trials Research Symposium as part of its 2019 Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA, March 7-10. The symposium will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The intensive program is for all providers working in the nursing home setting. It will identify common themes and showcase international pragmatic trials from Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United States. Each speaker will discuss a specific trial they’ve conducted in a long-term care setting. Participants can earn up to 6.5 Continuing Medical Education, Certified Medical Director, and Maintenance of Certification credits.

The symposium also will feature a poster session with practical, scientifically-sound ideas from around the globe that participants can begin applying immediately to their practices. Abstracts are being accepted here through December 14, 2018.

“Over the course of the day we’ll learn a lot, not just about these pragmatic trials, but about the methodology. My hope is that we can help people who have been somewhat intimidated by doing research in long-term care,” says Cari Levy, MD, PhD, CMD, professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and president of the Society’s Board of Directors. She will be speaking at the conference.

Registration for the symposium is now open. To set up an interview with Dr. Levy, send an email to emullally@paltc.org.
