Society Resolutions to be Considered at AMA House of Delegates Meeting
AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine has been a very active participant within the American Medical Association’s (AMA) House of Delegates (HoD) for many years. The upcoming meeting on June 10-13 in Chicago, Illinois will once again consider two resolutions from the Society – Enabling Attending Physicians to Waive the Three Midnight Rule for Patients Receiving Care Within Downside Risk Sharing Accountable Care Organizations and Advanced Bundled Payment Care Improvement Programs and Includes of Bundled Payments Care Improvement (BCPI) Post-Acute Only Model in Advanced BPCI. These resolutions were passed by the Society HoD and adopted as policy by the Society Board at its March Annual Conference.
For the first time, these resolutions will be presented by Society’s new delegate Rajeev Kumar, MD, CMD. Dr. Kumar previously served as an alternate delegate to long-time Society delegate Eric Tangalos, MD, CMD. Dr Tangalos will serve as the alternate delegate for the upcoming meeting. Dr. Kumar has been a very active participant of the Society HoD and has worked with his state chapter in Illinois to author many of the recent policy resolutions including the two resolutions that will be presented at the AMA HoD.
