THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, AMDA - Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine supports a mandatory annual influenza vaccination for every long term care health care worker who has direct patient contact unless a medical contraindication or religious objection exists.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, AMDA - Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine recommends that medical directors and other practitioners encourage caregivers (both professional health care workers and family caregivers) to obtain these vaccinations.
Reaffirms Policy in Immunizations in the Long Term Care Setting Toolkit.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, AMDA - Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine recommends that vaccinations be made available and offered at no cost to staff working in long-term care settings.

title: A23-CMS WAVIER FOR REMOTE PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN VISITS

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA the Society for Post-Acute and Long- Term Care advocates for a waiver process for nursing homes to provide medically and regulatory necessary video conferencing telemedicine visits with a physician, including current regulations for delegation of tasks to advanced practice providers, for the purpose of providing primary care to the nursing home resident, when the nursing home has demonstrated due diligence in attempting to secure a physician. The waiver will be for period of one year, renewable annualxly;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long- Term Care Medicine, together with likeminded professional organizations such as American Geriatrics Society, American Medical Association, and consumer organizations such as AARP and others, advocate for legislative action to create a pathway to immigration for undocumented noncitizens in the United States, who show their commitment to their intended homeland by working as Certified Nursing Assistants and/or Nurses in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care settings for a minimum of five years.
