JAMDA Ranked 2nd Among Geriatrics/Gerontology Journals as Impact Factor Rises
JAMDA – The Journal of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine is now the second most cited journal in Thomson Reuters’ Geriatrics/Gerontology category. The publication’s 2015 impact factor rose to 6.616, a large increase from the 2014 impact factor of 4.939.
“We are very happy for the growing importance of post-acute and long-term care in the scientific field,” says Editor-in-Chief John Morley, MB, BCH. “This type of recognition is really important for all of us working in the field.”
JAMDA’s average time from submission to first decision is 21 days, and the average time from acceptance to publication is 3-4 months. The current acceptance rate is 30%.
The Science Citation Index (SCI) Impact Factor (IF) measures the average citations to articles published in scientific and social science journals.
JAMDA is the scientific, peer-reviewed journal of AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (AMDA). JAMDA publishes peer-reviewed articles including original studies, reviews, clinical experience articles, case reports, and other items. JAMDA covers topics such as geriatric medicine, dementia and cognitive impairment, rehabilitation, chronic comorbid conditions, the frail elder, medication management and prescribing issues, multi-resistant organisms and infectious diseases, falls prevention, assisted living risks and challenges, as well as health policy, outcomes evaluation and guidelines for administrators, physicians and staff who work in long-term care and rehabilitation sites. Established in 2000, the journal currently is indexed by Excerpta Medica, MEDLINE®, EMBASE, Current Contents/Clinical Medicine, and the Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature.
