The objective of this quality improvement (QI) project was to reduce fall-related complications, particularly fragility fractures, among residents and patients in skilled nursing facilities. This population is at high risk for falls and subsequent complications, which can lead to functional decline and increased mortality. The short-term aim was to achieve greater than 80% compliance with thorough documentation and appropriate post-fall evaluation and management, with the long-term goal of improving post-fall care quality and reducing fall-related complications.
