Comment on “Identifying Patient, Care Partner, and Clinician Needs for Functional Recovery Following Hospitalization When Dementia Is Present”

We read with great interest the article by Gustavson et al,1 “Identifying Patient, Care Partner, and Clinician Needs for Functional Recovery Following Hospitalization When Dementia Is Present.” This study addresses a clinically important and challenging topic: care after discharge, ongoing rehabilitation in the community, and support for living at home. Its significance is considerable. By integrating the perspectives of patients, caregivers, and rehabilitation professionals such as physical and occupational therapists, the authors explore feasible solutions from multiple viewpoints, which we find particularly impressive.
