No Place Like My Small Town Nursing Home

Caring for the Ages

There’s something special about working in a post-acute and long-term care facility, and it’s even more special in a small rural town. It’s the feeling of community, the residents’ sense of belonging, and the staff’s collective sense of duty and purpose. Over my family medicine residency and geriatric medicine fellowship, I’ve come to know our facility, which is situated in a town of fewer than 3,000 people. Countless moments within these walls over these years have reaffirmed my passion for not only geriatric medicine but also becoming a certified medical director.
