Individuals who experience hearing loss have nearly double the risk of developing dementia, an Israeli study found. Ared Kodesh, MD, of University of Haifa, and colleagues conducted a national cohort study in which they followed 102,067 members of a health maintenance organization for 17.2 years. Individuals had neither a hearing disorder nor dementia at baseline.
