Measles has reemerged in the United States, with outbreaks reported in multiple states, primarily in areas with low vaccination rates and particularly among unvaccinated children. Although most long-term care (LTC) residents are likely immune to measles due to prior infection or previous vaccination, the risk of introduction through health care personnel (HCP) or visitors remains real, making it essential for facilities to have a clear plan in place in the event of a measles exposure.
