Remembering a Geriatric Leader in the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care World

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing on April 15, 2025, of a leader in the care of older adults, Dr George Taler. Dr Taler focused his work over the long trajectory of providing geriatric medicine on the entire continuum of the post-acute and long-term care world. Dr Taler was truly an innovator and pioneer in geriatric medicine at a time when geriatrics was probably the least likely area of medicine to engage in. He was, however, passionate about providing quality care to older adults and a relentless advocate for compassionate, patient-centered care long before this term was in vogue.
