I read with great interest the article by Pan et al published in this journal.1 The authors reported the increased risk of dementia in younger patients with hyperlipidemia, which was observed in any types of dementia. The propensity score–matching hazard ratios (95% CIs) of patients with hyperlipidemia diagnosed before 50 years, between 50 and 69 years, and 70 years and older for all-cause dementia were 1.46 (1.15-1.86), 1.21 (1.12-1.31), and 0.94 (0.84-1.06), respectively. I have some comments about the study.
