For elderly patients with acute illness, oral intake is important not only in treatment for such illness. Once occurring dysphagia, their disorder will not be recovered only during their acute care hospitalization, such a short period. These dysphagia patients need decision-making of discharge location with artificial hydration and nutrition (AHN). These issues of decision-making of patients with difficulty in oral intake are increasing worldwide in elderly society. However, there had been no cohort study of patients with difficulty in oral intake after discharge in acute care hospitals.
