Approximately 15.9 million adults aged ≥65 years, which is around 33% of all adults aged ≥65 years, have diabetes (Fast Facts: Data and Statistics About Diabetes [American Diabetes Association, 2022], https://bit.ly/48AJrSm). Of this population, >90% have type 2 diabetes (T2D) (BMJ Open Diab Res Care 2022;10:e002705).
