Reduction of Polypharmacy in Frail Older Patients in Hong Kong Using STOPPFrail Criteria

Polypharmacy and frailty are 2 prevalent geriatric syndromes in the older population, and medication review and deprescription may be beneficial. The Screening Tool of Older Persons Prescriptions in Frail adults with limited life expectancy (STOPPFrail criteria) is an explicit criteria developed through a Delphi process targeting older patients with physical dependency, advanced frailty, irreversible chronic or terminal illness, and a life expectancy of less than 12 months. It was first published in 2017 and was revised to a second version in 2020.
