Novel Clinical Frailty Scale Scoring Tools for Community-Dwelling Older Persons: An Interim Analysis

We refer to our article entitled “Brief Aids to Guide Clinical Frailty Scale Scoring at the Front Door of Acute Hospitals,”1 which reported the potential utility of the Clinical Frailty Scale–Emergency Department (CFS-ED) that promotes fast and accurate frailty screening in the ED setting.1,2 The CFS-ED was first developed by our emergency physicians for easy CFS scoring by triage nurses. It has since been established as standard practice for frailty screening among ED attendees aged ≥65 years at our institution.
