Columbia, MD – “AMDA – Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine is pleased with the passing of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, allowing for a one-year physician payment freeze, and averting the scheduled 26.5 percent cut previously scheduled for January 1, 2013.

However, physicians and AMDA members will again face this cut in one year, and may still face a 2 percent cut later this year. AMDA hopes to work closely with the 113th Congress on a permanent solution to the sustainable growth rate (SGR) to ensure financial stability for physicians and others practicing in long term care settings.”
