AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine works with other organizations to facilitate education of the healthcare team by providing credits applicable to several professions.
Physician Credit
Physician CME:
AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education credit for all educational programs.
In 2022, AMDA received accreditation from ACCME, a designation awarded to organizations that demonstrate compliance in all criteria and accreditation policies. ACCME commended the Society for meeting all accreditation requirements, and for demonstrating that it is a learning organization and a change agent for physicians and the patients it serves. In addition, the Society demonstrates an engagement with its environment in support of physician learning and change that is a part of a system for quality improvement.
Presentation Credit: Presenters/faculty can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for teaching at live cme activities and for preparing a poster presentation as first author directly from the American Medical Association. Learn about more opportunities for direct credit here. The AMA requires the presenter or faculty member to apply directly for these credits. AMDA does not facilitate this or issue these credits.
CMD Certification Credit
AMDA -The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine offers the AMDA Core Curriculum on Medical Direction (Core Curriculum) which guides participants through 22 critical areas of long term care management. Each topic builds on information shared and interactive exercises of the topics that precede to create a comprehensive and cohesive picture of medical direction in long term care.
AMDA provides continuing education that is certified for CMD Management and CMD Clinical Credit.
ABIM MOC
ABIM MOC points can be earned for many online and in-person programs. This is indicated in program descriptions. AMDA reports these credits to ABIM on your behalf.
AAFP
American Academy of Family Physicians prescribed credits are offered for select activities including the Annual Conference, live Core Synthesis, and EDGE Symposium programs.
AMDA provided activities that are accredited for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ may be recorded as AAFP Elective credit.
The AAFP also allows you to report credit for presenting papers as a Scholarly Activity for AAFP Prescribed Credit. It is the responsibility of the presenter to submit these credits to AAFP. AMDA does not facilitate this or issue these credits.

ABFM Family Medicine Certification (formerly MC-FP)
Certain activities may be eligible to help meet ABFM Family Medicine Certification (formerly MC-FP) Requirements. Participants may self-report AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ to meet Certification requirements via the Physician Portfolio on the ABFM website. All CME credits are subject to final approval by the ABFM.
AOA Credit
CME programs which are provided by an ACCME-accredited provider for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ are eligible for Category 2 credit through the AOA. To obtain the Category 2 credit, please visit the AOA Website for reporting directions.
