Christopher Laxton, CAE, Executive Director, AMDA – The Society For Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine
Chris is a career association professional with 35 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, governance, and operations. He was appointed the Society’s executive director in February 2013. Before that, he was president of LeadingAge Illinois.
Chris represents the Society on several national coalitions, including the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations and the Dementia Friendly America National Council. He also serves as board chair of the Advancing Excellence in Long-Term Care Coalition, and as a board member of the Center for Excellence in Assisted Living and the Dementia Action Alliance. He is a national examiner on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest award for organizational performance excellence.
