THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA - The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine initiate efforts and work with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to seek full recognition of post-acute and long-term care medicine as a medical specialty.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, together with likeminded professional organizations, advocate for mandatory inclusion of registered professional nurses in all survey teams that conduct surveys including complaint surveys in nursing homes, and influence legislation and or governmental action to facilitate such direction

title: A23-CMS WAVIER FOR REMOTE PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN VISITS

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA the Society for Post-Acute and Long- Term Care advocates for a waiver process for nursing homes to provide medically and regulatory necessary video conferencing telemedicine visits with a physician, including current regulations for delegation of tasks to advanced practice providers, for the purpose of providing primary care to the nursing home resident, when the nursing home has demonstrated due diligence in attempting to secure a physician. The waiver will be for period of one year, renewable annualxly;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long- Term Care Medicine develop a white paper, toolkits, educational resources, webinars, podcasts, and clinical practice guidelines to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care (PALTC), and host a dedicated webpage featuring them to serve as a resource for PALTC facilities, medical directors, practitioners, staff, residents and families.;

March 2022

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long- Term Care Medicine, together with likeminded professional organizations such as American Geriatrics Society, American Medical Association, and consumer organizations such as AARP and others, advocate for legislative action to create a pathway to immigration for undocumented noncitizens in the United States, who show their commitment to their intended homeland by working as Certified Nursing Assistants and/or Nurses in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care settings for a minimum of five years.
